COVID-19 ADVICE AND HOME LEARNING

IF YOU OR YOUR CHILD FEEL UNWELL THEN PLEASE DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL.

Please be overly cautious and keep children at home if there is ANY concern that your child or a member of your household has been exposed to the virus.
The cooperation of all parents and carers will be expected.

Any child showing symptoms of the virus or developing such when they are in school will be sent home immediately.
Any child who lives in a household where the virus is present or where the residents are self-isolating
should NOT be sent to school.

>> Risk Assessment for COVID-19 Protective Measures at St Peter's School updated July 2021

What are the rules about suspected or confirmed symptoms?

Request a COVID-19 test :
All children over the age of five can now have access to a COVID-19 test if they display the symptoms of coronavirus and are encouraged to get tested.
Contact your GP, call 119 or go online nhs.uk/coronavirus for advice.

If the COVID-19 test is NEGATIVE, your child can return to school when they feel well enough and their fellow household members can end their self-isolation.

If the COVID-19 test is POSITIVE, your child and all household members should self-isolate for a minimum of 10 days.
Notify school immediately of positive test result.

If any child or staff member has been into school in the 7 days preceding display of their first COVID-19 symptom and subsequently tested positive for COVID-19, the rest of their class and teacher will be sent home and advised to self-isolate for 10 days. Their families/household members do not need to self isolate unless their own child or the teacher then develops symptoms themselves.

REMOTE LEARNING

We have extensive plans for the provision of remote education where needed and to ensure that the small number of children that may need to be educated at home, for example, due to shielding or self-isolation, are given the support they need to continue learning. We will contine to provide an ambitious and broad curriculum in all subjects. Remote education will be of a high quality and will align as closely as possible with in-school provision.

We are determined to keep all our pupils enthusiastic and engaged with their learning and make sure no one falls behind if they need to learn from home because of coronavirus. We also want to ensure that they feel safe and fully supported at this time.

Our remote learning offer is bespoke to the children of St Peter’s School.
It is based on the size of our Infant school, the age of our children
and the resources availabe to our school.

We want to make sure every child can learn as much as possible at home, taking into consideration family circumstances as well. Our Remote Learning Offer outlines our expectations of what we would like each child to do while learning remotely, and how we plan to support children and their families to do this.
