If you have a child due to start school for the first time or you are transferring from another area, we hope you find the information on this website useful. Further information can be found in the School Prospectus in the Parents section.

However to get a full picture of our school you will probably want to come and see for yourself and we are delighted to show prospective parents around. During the Autumn term, we hold our open events to show prospective parents around the school. If you are interested in attending St Peter's CofE Infant School, please contact our school office with your child’s name, date of birth, address and contact details and the staff will ensure that you receive an invitation in September (the year before your child starts school).

St Peter’s C of E Infant school is a voluntary aided school and therefore we have our own admissions criteria. These are set out in our Admissions policy and reviewed annually.

We still have a few places in our Reception Year, Year 1 and Year 2 for September 2021.

In-Year Admissions for Academic year 2020/2021

If you have recently moved to the area or are looking to change schools please contact us directly to enquire about availability of places in the relevant year group. If we do not have any places available when we receive your application you can ask to be added to the waiting list for the required year group. You can also apply via Surrey County Council website using their CMA (Centrally managed Form) and they will pass your details on to the school.

The governing body of St. Peters C of E Infant School, Tandridge has agreed the following statement in order to clarify how its faith-based oversubscription criteria will be interpreted whilst churches are closed or attendance at church is unsafe due to COVID-19. This statement has been shared widely with churches in order to ensure that determinations made by relevant ministers concerning church attendance are being made on a consistent basis. 

 

‘If a parent/carer was a committed member and regular worshipper prior to the closing of churches for public worship, then where a parent/carer has not subsequently met this requirement for a given period a parent/carer will be considered to have been a committed member and regular worshipper at that church for that period where either of the following apply: 

 

a) the church was closed for public worship; 

b) by returning to church the parent/carer would not be taking account of government guidance concerning shielding (available here) and protecting persons either moderately or extremely clinically vulnerable to COVID-19.’

 

 

Admissions for September 2021 Intake

In line with the admissions process, following the submission (and ranking by our Governing body) of applications for entry into Reception September 2021, Surrey County Council Admissions is now in the process of allocating places. Parents/Carers will be advised of this decision on national offer day which is 16 April 2021, and have until 30 April to accept or decline places offered. If you do not receive your highest preference offer your child's name will be automatically placed on our waiting list.

Offers and Waiting List


Following the deadline of 30 April, Surrey CC Admissions team will confirm accepted and declined places to the school which can take up until 7 May. After this date we will then be in a better position to share and answer any waiting list position enquiries. If you need to contact us or would like your child to be added to our waiting list
for any places which may become available, we would ask you do so by email to info@stpetersinfant.org.
Please include your child's name, date of birth, home address and full contact details and we will reply as soon as possible.

 

School Admission Appeals

Parents who are not offered a place for their child have the right to appeal. Parents who wish to appeal should contact the school and we will arrange for the appropriate forms to be sent. You may also contact the Surrey Schools Appeals Service directly to obtain the appropriate forms through https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/schools/admissions/appeals or by telephoning 020 8541 8092 or by emailing surrey.schoolappeals@surreycc.gov.uk.

DfE guidance on changes to school admission appeals due to coronavirus (COVID-19):

On 24 April 2020, the DfE made changes to the way admission authorities school governing bodies, local authorities and academy trusts, depending on the type of school) carried out admission appeals. Details of these can be found at www.gov.uk/government/publications/admission-appeals-for-school-places/coronavirus-covid-19-school-admission-appeals. Please note that some of the deadlines and process for hearing appeals may change depending on the national situation as a result of Covid-19. You will be informed on a case by case basis.

Appeals resulting from the September 2021 allocation need to be lodged by 17 May 2021 and these will be heard by 19 July 2021 (40 school days later). Appeals lodged after this date will be heard within 40 days of the appeal deadline or 30 school days of being lodged, whichever is the later date.

Appellants will be sent notification of their appeal hearing at least 10 clear school days in advance of the hearing. Appellants will be sent a copy of the school's case
7 clear working days in advance of the hearing. Appellants must ensure that any further evidence not included with theit initial appeal, is receveid by 5pm on the day preceding three clear working days prior to the appeal hearing date. Any additional evidence or information received after this date might not be considered at the appeal hearing.

We ask parents applying under church allegiance, sibling priority or as a staff member to also complete a supplementary form which should be returned directly to the school.

Determined Admission Arrangements for September 2022 onwards

 

Your child will be eligible to start school in September 2022 if their date of birth falls between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018. We welcome applications from all families living in the local area. As an Own Admissions Authority we are responsbile for applying our own admission criteria, ranking the list of applicants and maintaining a waiting list where we are oversubscribed. However, the Surrey County Council Admissions Team manage the application process and has a statutory duty to co-ordinate applications and allocations for Reception Year school places as part of the normal admissions new round. Applications for a school place should therefore be made directly through Surrey Admissions: https://www.surreycc.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/schools/admissions/primary-junior-and-infant/apply.

For parents applying to St Peter's under our church allegiance and/or sibling criteria, or for children of staff members we also request that you complete a Supplementary Information Form and return this directly to the school.
